An alleged drug dealer has been arrested by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 with 435 grams of heroin from Sasthitala Rail Station area in Dinajpur district on Thursday (May 27).
Earlier, RAB received secret information that heroin is being smuggled through a courier service in a cartoon packed with mango from the area.
"Accordingly, an operational team of RAB-13 from Rangpur conducted a raid and detained the man with heroin from the spot," said Senior Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-13 Flight Lieutenant Mahmud Bashir Ahmed.
During the operation, the elite force seized the contraband heroin packed in four mini polythene packs and two mobile phone sets from the possession of the detainee.
The arrested man was identified as Md. Jeebon, 42, son of late Siraj Byapari of Matasagar Adarshapara area under Kotwali police station in Dinajpur district town.
