The Election Commission (EC) has formed a four members 'Media Monitoring Committee' to monitor the mainstream media, including Facebook and YouTube. 

The officials on Thursday (May 26) said that, the committee will monitor any news, propaganda and report directly to EC every day and submit a final report to the Chief Election Commissioner including other commissioners.

The formation of such a committee for media monitoring had never happened before. They see the matter as positive, said EC officials.

Twelfth National Assembly elections will be held in January 2024 in the first six months. Regarding this, the EC has started to prepare a little earlier.
