At least 30 leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) were injured in a clash with Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on Thursday (May 26) in the Capital.
This incident occurred on the High Court premises around Thursday noon.
Akhter Hossain, convener of Dhaka University unit of JDC, told banglanews24: "Some 30 to 40 of our leaders and activists were injured in the attack of BCL on the High Court premises."
According to witnesses, JCD members brought out a procession from near the HC on Thursday morning. At one point BCL activists attacked them, resulting in a chase, a counter-chase, and throwing of brick chips, they added.
When the procession of JCD members was heading towards the Dhaka University TSC area around 9:30am, some BCL activists attacked them near the Doyel Chattar, they added.
Later, a large number of law enforcers have been deployed in the area to bring the situation under control.
DMCH police camp Incharge Md Bachchu Miah told Banglanews that 5-6 injured persons received primary treatment at the hospital.
