The body of prominent journalist Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury - best known for writing the lyrics of "Amar Bhaier Rokte Rangano" - will arrive in Dhaka on Saturday (May 28).

The entire process of sending the body of late Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury to Bangladesh under full state management at the direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, said Bangladesh High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK) Saida Muna Tasneem.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying his body will depart the London's Heathrow Airport on Friday evening (May 27) and reach Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday noon (Bangladesh time) in Dhaka.

Arrangements have also been made to send family members of the late Gaffar Chowdhury to Dhaka with the same flight.

Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury passed away at a hospital in London on May 19 last at the age of 88.
