Two siblings died after inhaling toxic gas inside a septic tank at ground floor of a Hawkers’ Market in the Hajiganj Municipality in Chandpur on Tuesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Golam Rabbani, 38, and Mohan Ali, 28, sons of late Shajeman Ali of Sukhandighi village under Nachol Police Station in Chapainawabganj district.

Quoting Bareq Haji, the owner of the building, Hajiganj officer-in-charge (OC) Md Jobair, said Mohan Ali first got down inside the septic tank of the under construction building. As he did not return, elder brother Golam Rabbani entered inside it but he was also unable to come back.

Upon receiving the news, the fire service members rescued them and sent to Hajiganj Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared them dead.
