At least five people were killed as a bus ran over an autorickshaw in Sherpur of Bogura district on Wednesday afternoon (Jan 26).

The identity of the deceased could not be known yet.

The accident took place in Amtala area on the Dhaka-Rangpur Highway.

Sherpur Police Station Officer-in-charge (OC) Shahidul Islam confirmed the matter.

He said, "We have come to the spot. We will be able to give details later."

“Highway police are conducting rescue operations,” he said.
