The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 52 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital city over the past 24 hours till 6:00 am Monday (Jan 24).

Detectives and the law enforcers jointly made the arrest and seized illegal drugs from their possession.

The DMP seized 390 Yaba tablets, 4.10 kg of hemp, 21 grams of ice (crystal meth) and 341 grams of heroin from their possessions, a DMP statement said.

Based on information, members of Detectives and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a 24-hour long raid and detained the drug trades from various places, it also said.

A total of 37 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act, the statement added.
