The country reported 53 fresh dengue cases in last 24 hours till Saturday morning (Dec 4), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

So far, 98 died from the mosquito-borne disease this year.

In the 24 hours, 24 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka and 29 other people in other places across the country, said the DGHS release.

Some 293 patients diagnosed with dengue fever are now receiving treatment in the country. Of them, 213 patients were receiving treatment in 46 government and private hospitals in Dhaka while the remaining 80 were undergoing treatment outside Dhaka.

Some 27,536 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with dengue since January while 27,145 patients have returned home after recovery.
