Bus owners have finally agreed to allow students to pay half fares, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Road Transport Owners Association Secretary General Khandaker Enayet Ullah has also said all busses will allow half pass for students from Wednesday (December 1).

Enayet Ullah made the announcement at a press conference held at the office of the Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association on Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue on Tuesday morning.

Earlier, the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) had two meetings with transport leaders to implement half-pass on public transport for students. But these meetings ended without any decision. 

At the meeting, the bus owners demanded subsidy for implementing the half fare for the students.
