A Madaripur court today (Nov 29) sentenced three people to death for killing a minor girl in Rajoir upazila of the district in 2015.

The court also fined them Tk 5,000 each.

Madaripur District Sessions Judge's Court Judge Nitai Chandra Saha delivered the verdict this morning.

The death row convicts are Rajib Hawlader, 41, son of Rafiq Hawlader of West Swarmangal in Rajoir, Rimon Hossain alias Emon Gazi, 32, son of Muhith Gazi of Kodalia Bajitpur and Shafiqul Islam Mollah, 31, son of Rafiqul Islam Mollah of Bhairampur in Pirojpur district.

The court acquitted Selim Hawlader, 41, of Bagerhat, as the allegation brought against him could not be proved.

Madaripur Public Prosecutor Siddiqur Rahman Singh confirmed the matter.

According to the case statement, the convicts killed a child named Aduri Aktar, 5, daughter of Tuku Sarder, on September 20, 2015.
