The Daily Sun, country’s leading national English daily, has started celebrating the 11th anniversary of its publication Sunday morning through various programmes.
Politicians, editors, diplomats and other eminent personalities attended the celebration programme being held at the daily’s head office at Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital.
The distinguished guests wished the Daily Sun and took part in cake cutting ceremony marking the founding anniversary of the newspaper.
In welcome note, Daily Sun Editor Enamul Hoque Chowdhury expressed his heartfelt thanks to the guests to have attended the programme.
Hailing the objective news of the Daily Sun, Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Atiqul Islam said the daily is going ahead with constructive idea and reaching at the peak of journalism under the leadership of Editor Enamul Hoque Chowdhury.
“We will make a better and modern Dhaka with the help of you all” he said.
Wishing the Daily Sun on its anniversary, East West Media Group Limited Director Imdadul Huq Milan said the daily has created a niche in the sector and the day is not far away when it will lead the English journalism in the country.
Echoing view of the predecessors, Bangladesh Pratidin Editor Naem Nizam said the Daily Sun is doing pretty well under the leadership of Editor Enamul Hoque Chowdhury and set to play leading role in journalism at home and abroad being imbued with the spirit of liberation war.
