Global COVID-19 cases top 243.86, deaths pass 4.95m

The overall global Covid-19 caseload has topped 243.86 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 4.95 million, according to data from the worldometer.

In its latest update on Saturday (Oct 23, 5pm Bangladesh Time), the data revealed that the current global caseload and death toll stood at 243,867,066 and 4,955,900 respectively.

Besides, a total of 220,960,144 people recovered worldwide from the disease, according to data from the worldometer.

A total of 220 countries and territories and two international conveyances have been infected in the deadly disease.

In USA, 46,264,596 people have tested positive for the virus. Of them, 755,721 people have died and 36,000,821 people have recovered.

In Brazil, 21,711,843 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 605,211 have died and 20,885,484 recovered.

In India, 34,159,562 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 453,742 people have died and 33,532,126 people have recovered.

In Mexico, 3,777,209 have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 285,953 died and 3,137,453 recovered from the disease.

In Russia, 8,205,983 people have tested positive for Covid-19. Of them, 229,528 have died and 7,143,137 people have recovered.

In Peru, 2,194,132 people have tested positive for Covid-19. Of them, 200,003 have died.

In Indonesia, 4,239,396 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 143,176 patients have died and 4,081,417 people have recovered.

In UK, 8,689,949 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 139,326 patients have died and 7,086,096 people have recovered.

In Italy, 4,733,557 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 131,763 people have died and 4,528,065 people have recovered. 

In Colombia, 4,988,021 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 126,994 people have died and 4,832,049 people have recovered.

In Iran, 5,844,589 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 124,928 patients have died and 5,388,496 patients have recovered. 

In France, 7,114,572 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 117,440 patients have died and 6,905,875 patients have recovered.

In Argentina, 5,278,910 people have tested positive for Covid-19. Of them, 115,819 patients have died and 5,144,364 people have recovered.

In Germany, 4,455,400 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 95,794 patients have died and 4,200,000 have recovered.

In South Africa, 2,918,883 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 88,891 patients have died and 2,810,740 people have recovered.

In Spain, 4,997,732 patients have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 87,132 have died and 4,848,432 patients have recovered. 

In Poland, 2,968,200 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 76,434 patients have died and 2,683,645 people have recovered.
 
In Bangladesh, 1,567,417 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 27,814 people died and 1,530,941 patients have recovered.

The World Health Organization declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11 last year.
