Dengue: One die, 170 hospitalised in last 24-hr

The country reported one death and 170 fresh dengue cases in last 24 hours till Thursday morning (Oct 21), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With this, 84 died from the mosquito-borne disease this year.

In the 24 hours, 139 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka and 31 other people in other places across the country, said the DGHS release.

Some 792 patients diagnosed with dengue fever are receiving treatment in the country as of Tuesday morning. Of them, 642 patients were receiving treatment in 46 government and private hospitals in Dhaka while the remaining 168 were undergoing treatment outside Dhaka.

Some 22,007 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with dengue since January while 21,131 patients have returned home after recovery.
