The country reported 172 fresh dengue cases in last 24 hours till Monday morning (Oct 18), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

So far 83 died from the mosquito-borne disease this year.

In the 24 hours, 130 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka and 42 other people in other places across the country, said the DGHS release.

Some 815 patients diagnosed with dengue fever are receiving treatment in the country as of Tuesday morning. Of them, 630 patients were receiving treatment in 46 government and private hospitals in Dhaka while the remaining 185 were undergoing treatment outside Dhaka.

Some 21,574 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with dengue since January while 20676 patients have returned home after recovery.
