Eight Covid-19 related fatalities were reported at the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) in the last 24 hours till Tuesday morning (Oct 12).

With this, 45 people died of Covid-19 at the corona unit of RMCH from October 1 to till date.

Of the deceased, three were the residents of Naogaon, while one each from Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj, Natore, Sirajganj and Tangail districts, said RMCH Director Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani.  

Among them, all were suffering from symptoms of Covid-19, he said.

Besides, 12 more patients were admitted to the designated Covid-19 wards of the hospital in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of admitted patients to 84, including 12 tested positive for Covid-19.

Seventeen other patients returned home from the RMCH Covid-19 unit as they recovered during the time, Yazdani added.
