The government has decided to administer Pfizer vaccines to 12-17 year olds following the approval of the World Health Organization (WHO), said Health Minister Zahid Maleque on Sunday.
He said the director general of World Health Organization has agreed on Pfizer jabs for 12-17 year olds.
The minister was addressing a press briefing on Covid-19 vaccine at the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS).
"Already 60 lakh Pfizer vaccine doses are in stock and another 70 lakh will come soon," he also said.
Birth registration certificate and school certificate will be used for vaccine registration as they have no national identity (NID) cards, the minister added.
