Ten lakh doses of Covishield vaccines produced by the Serum Institute of India (SII) will reach in Dhaka at 5:40pm on Saturday (Oct 9) from India.
This vaccine doses will come to Bangladesh under the commercial arrangement between SII Beximco.
Under the deal, Bangladesh government paid in advance for 3 crore Chovishield vaccines.
India so far provided 70 lakh doses under the commercial supply and gifted 33 lakh doses as gift.
Amid a steep rise in Covid cases in India and reports of shortage of vaccines, the Indian government, however, paused vaccine exports last month to meet domestic demand.
India has resumed export of vaccine to Bangladesh and other countries as the Covid situation across the country improves.
