Voting for by-elections in 12 Upazila Parishads, five councilors of four city corporations and one mayor and four councilors of five municipalities and six Union Parishads began in Thursday morning amid tight security.

The voting started at 8:00am and will continue till 4:00pm today without any break.

On September 2, the Election Commission (EC) announced separate schedules for the elections to local government bodies.  

The EC has already taken all kinds of preparation in holding elections.

Besides, members of law enforcement agencies have been deployed in the field to hold peaceful elections.
