Biman Bangladesh Airlines has launched direct flights between northwestern Saidpur and beach city Cox’s Bazar today (Oct 7).

The inaugural flight departed from Saidpur to Cox's Bazar at 10:00am.

Railway minister Nurul Islam Sujan was present as the chief guest in the inaugural function with state minister for civil aviation and tourism Mahbub Ali in the chair. 

Popular actor Asaduzzaman Noor, an MP from Nilphamari-2, Ahsan Adelur Rahman, an MP from Nilphamari-4, Rabeya Alim, an MP for the reserved seat and Biman Bangladesh chairman Sajjadul Hasan, among others, attended the event. 

According to Biman sources, the BG 592 flight will depart directly from Saidpur to Cox's Bazar every Thursday at 9:29am while the BG 538 flight will depart from Cox's Bazar to Saidpur Airport at 1:25pm every Saturday.
