The country reported three deaths and 192 fresh dengue cases in last 24 hours till Monday morning, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With this, the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease reached 71 this year.

In the 24 hours, 162 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka and 30 other people in other places across the country, said the DGHS release.

Of them, 4663 were from the capital city, two each from Chattogram and Khulna divisions and one from Rajshahi division.

On Saturday, 922 dengue patients, including 743 in 46 government and private hospitals in the capital, were undergoing treatment in health facilities across the country.

Some 18,936 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with dengue since January while 17,943 patients have returned home after recovery.
