Munia’s death: 3 associates of Nusrat last to visit her flat

Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), a specialised unit of law enforcement agency assigned to investigate the case filed over the death of college girl Mosarat Jahan Munia, claimed to have got cardinal evidence about the visit of three persons to the flat prior to her death.

Police officials have collected CCTV footage of the flat and seized visitors’ register book of the building confirming visits by the trio.

Two hours before the death of the college girl, three persons made it to the flat and police have obtained their photos.

Second persons entered the flat 45 minutes after the first person and third person visited the place 15 minutes later, sources said.

Earlier, complainant of the case Nusrat Jahan Tania in a telephonic conversation informed her younger sister Munia of sending three associates. Tania asked Munia to receive the visitors and allow them to stay in her flat until her arrival. Who are the three people?

After police found Munia dead inside her flat, Tania went to Gulshan Police Station and filed suicide incitement case against Bashundhara Group Managing Director. The three visitors suspiciously accompanied Tania in the police station.

Investigators are curious to know as to how the three persons reached the spot soon after the arrival of Tania from Cumilla. It is presumed that Tania gave a duplicate key of Munia’s flat to the three visitors.

The three persons also accompanied Tania in a Dhaka court when she filed an incitement case. They were seen roaming about the court premises during institution of rape and murder case, second suit filed by Tania.

Investigation shows that Nusrat maintains a cadre group and professional criminals to intimidate her brother and other opponents following a dispute over parental properties. Relations with her brother nosedived to such an extent that the issue went to the court. She used to pay a certain amount of money to the cadres for this purpose. Nusrat also deployed the cadres to monitor movement of Munia and weigh her loyalty. The three persons found to be meeting Nusrat in at least seven places. They are habitual criminals. They are facing various cases. Had Munia been killed, the last moment visitors might have been involved in the offence. For committing any murder, killers must be present at the place of occurrence.

Accompaniment of the last-moment visitors with Nusrat has taken a dramatic turn in investigation into the case. If the trio can be arrested and grilled, the mystery of Munia’s death will be unveiled.

Meanwhile, the investigators have found the persons accused in the case to be innocent. The implicated persons did not visit the flat of Munia.

Mosarat Jahan Munia was found dead at a Gulshan flat on April 26. Her elder sister Nusrat Jahan Tania filed a false case against Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir for instigating suicide.

After a thorough investigation, police submitted the Final Report to the court on July 19, saying the allegation against Sayem Sobhan Anvir was not proved.

The court received the report on July 22. After hearing, the court exonerated the lone accused from the charges on August 18.

At the same time, the court also dismissed the Naraji (no confidence) petition submitted by Nusrat against the police report which led to an end of the false case.

Six days into the dismissal of the case, Nusrat filed another case with the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-8 of Dhaka.

She shifted from her previous position. She accused Sayem Sobhan Anvir, his father, mother, wife and some others of committing rape and murder of Munia.

The situation prompted PBI investigators to find the person who visited Munia’s flat at the eleventh hour.

The eight accused, including Anvir, cannot be blamed for the death as none of them visited the flat, said the people connected to the investigation.
