Mohib Ullah's killers won't be spared: Foreign Minister

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen on Saturday said the killers of Rohingya leader Mohib Ullah would be brought to justice soon.

In his first remarks since the Rohingya leader's murder sparked global condemnation, he said: "The government will take stern action against those who were involved in the killing. Nobody will be spared."

A vested quarter killed Mohib Ullah as he wanted to return to Myanmar, his home country, he added.

Mohib Ullah, chairman of the Arakan Rohingya Society for Peace and Human Rights (ARSPH), was shot dead at a Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar by unidentified assailants at around 8pm on Wednesday.

Police filed a murder case on Thursday night in connection with the killing of Mohib Ullah at Ukhiya camp in Cox's Bazar on Wednesday night.

Mohammad Selim alias Lomba Selim was arrested from a camp in Cox’s Bazar’s Ukhiya around 11am and handed over to police.

Drives are underway to identify and arrest more of the accused, based on leads from several witnesses, police sources said.
