Eight Covid-19 related fatalities were reported at the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning (Sep 22).

With this, 140 people died of Covid-19 at the corona unit of RMCH from September 1 to till date.

Of the deceased, three were the residents of Rajshahi, while two from Naogaon and one each from Chapainawabganj, Natore and Kustia districts, said RMCH Director Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani.  

Among the deaths, one tested positive and seven others had symptoms of Covid-19, he said.

Besides, 25 patients were admitted to the designated Covid-19 wards of the hospital in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of admitted patients to 123.

Fifteen other patients returned home from the RMCH Covid-19 unit as they recovered during the time, Yazdani added.
