The government has decided to keep CNG filling stations closed across the country from 6 pm to 10 pm daily.
In a bid to ensure gas supply to the power plants, the decision will come into force from Sunday.
A notification issued by the Deputy Chief Information Officer Mir Mohammad Aslam Uddin of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources on Wednesday confirmed the development.
Official sources said the decision came against the backdrop of the government’s decision to operate gas-fired power plants to generate electricity.
Earlier on Monday, the energy division had said in a press release that CNG filling stations would have to be closed for six hours every day from 5pm to 11pm.
