IU teacher Akram Hossain dies of Covid-19

A professor of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia has died of Covid-19 at Ibna Sina Hospital at Kollanpur in the capital. He was 50.

Dr M Akram Hossain Mojumder, Professor of Law department, breathed his last around 1:00 am on Tuesday.

According to the law department of the university, he was admitted to the hospital in Kalyanpur a few days ago after contracting the virus. 

He was taken to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital on July 16 after his condition deteriorated.

Akram Hossain, the former Dean of the Faculty of Law, was later placed on life support on Sunday.

He had been serving as Provost of the Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Hall of the University.
