Amid the worsening Covid-19 situation, Khulna division registered 46 deaths in a 24-hour span till Monday (July 26) morning.

With this, the Covid death toll reached 2,217 in the division. 

Of the deceased, 13 were from Kushtia, 11 each from Khulna and Jessore, three Bagerhat and Meherpur each, two from Magura and Narail, and one from Jhenaidah.

Rasheda Sultana, Director of Divisional Health Directorate, confirmed the matter to media.

Besides, 1,186 people have tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, raising the number of total caseloads to 88,248 in the division.

Khulna reported its first Coronavirus case on March 19 last year.
