Amid the worsening Covid-19 situation, Khulna division registered 51 deaths in a 24-hour span till Sunday (July 18) morning.

With this, the Covid death toll reached 1,895 in the division. 

Of the deceased, nineteen are from Khulna, fourteen from Kushtia, six from Jashore, five from Chuadanga, three from Bagerhat and one each from Jhenaidah, Meherpur, Magura and Satkhira.

Besides, 1345 people have tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, raising the number of total caseloads to 81,421 in the division.

Rasheda Sultana, Director of Divisional Health Directorate, confirmed the matter to media.

A total of 53,323 people have been cured from the disease, she said.

Khulna reported its first Coronavirus case on March 19 last year.
