‘Terrorist’ killed in Cox’s Bazar ‘gunfight’

A terrorist was killed in an alleged gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Sahittik Pallo area at Ward no 6 of Cox’s Bazar on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Ashraf Ali alias Ashu Ali, 25, son of Jafar Alam.

Being informed, a team of law enforcers conducted a drive in the area this morning, said RAB-15 Senior Assistant Director (Media) Abdullah Mohammad Sheikh Saadi.

Sensing the presence of law enforcers, the criminal opened fire on law enforcers, forcing them to take action in self defence, he said.

After the gunfight, the police recovered the bullet hit body of Ashu.

Ashu Ali was accused in 12 cases including of murder, snatching, weapons, robbery, kidnapping and extortion.
