Nineteen people died at the Covid units of three Khulna hospitals in the last 24 hours till Thursday (July 15) morning as the country continues to reel from a devastating second wave of the pandemic.

Of them, 12 died in Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH), four in Shaheed Sheikh Abu Nasser Specialized Hospital, two in Gazi Medical College Hospital and one in Khulna General Hospital.

Dr Suhas Ranjan Halder, resident medical officer of KMCH and Gazi Mizanur Rahman, owner of Gazi Medical College Hospital, Dr Kazi Abu Rashed, spokesman in Khulna General Hospital Corona unit, and Dr Prakash Debnath, focal person of Shaheed Sheikh Abu Nasser Specialized Hospital, individually confirmed the matter.
