Satkhira Government College Associate Professor Shafiul Azam and his cousin were killed in a road crash in Kushtia on Wednesday.

The road accident took place around 7:00am in Madhupur under Kushtia district.

Both Shafiul Azam, son of late Fazlul Haque and his cousin Enamul islam, son of Abdul Gani Mondol, hailed from Amla Union of Mirpur Upazila. 

Kushtia Highway Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Khaleq confirmed the matter to Banglanews. 

He said on way to Kushtia from Jhenaidah, their motorcycle hit a rod-laden long truck coming from the opposit direction, leaving Enamul dead on the spot.

Critically injured Shafiul Azam was admitted to kushtia General hospital where he later succumbed to his injures, the SI added.
