At least five people were killed and seven others injured as a truck collided head-on with a microbus in Narsingdi early Sunday.

The accident took place on Tongi-Ghorashal-Panchdona road at Sakura intersection at around 12:15am.

The deceased were as Mukti Akhter, 30, and her son Sadekul, 7, Ruby Akhter, 33, and her daughter Rahima, 5, and Rokeya Begum, 52. All of them hailed from Jhirabo area of Ashulia in Savar upazila. 

Sub-inspector (SI) Zahidul Islam of Madhabadi police station said confirmed the matter.

The injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
