Bangladesh is scheduled to receive 100,620 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccines tonight.

The vaccine doses are coming to Bangladesh under the Covax facility run by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.

The government on Thursday gave the emergency use authorization (EUA) for the use of Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine. The Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA) issued the authorization to the Pfizer mRNA vaccine.

This vaccine is suitable for people over 12 years of age.

However, according to the Bangladesh government's plan, this vaccine will be provided to people of a certain age.

The Pfizer jab has two doses with the 2nd one given 3-4 weeks after the first shot.
