The main Eid jamaat (congregation) was held today (May 14) at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, not at the Jatiya Eidgah Maidan, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Senior Imam of Baitul Mukarram Hafez Mufti Maulana Mizanur Rahman offered the congregation.
The pilgrims performed Eid prayers maintaining social distance, following hygiene rules to prevent coronavirus infection. As a result, no one was seen shaking hands or hugging at the end of the prayers.
The first jamaat was held at 7am.
Devotees came from different parts of the capital to take part in the first jamaat of Eid-ul-Fitr.
After that prayers, munajat were held for the welfare of the country and the nation.
