Abdul Matin Khasru's seat declared vacant

Cumilla-5 constituency has been declared vacant following death of the lawmaker and Supreme Court Bar Association president Abdul Matin Khasru, paving the way for reelection.

A circular signed by Senior Secretary of Parliament Secretariat Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan was issued on Thursday declaring the seat vacant.

The 71-year-old veteran AL leader Matin Khasru breathed his last at the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka following Covid-19 infection on April 14.
