Gazipur jail authorities sent orator Rafiqul Islam Madani to Kashimpur Central Jail-2 on Saturday morning.

He was shifted to the prison around 9:15am amid tight security, said Gazipur jail super Bazlur Rashid Akhand.

On April 7, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested him from Netrakona on charge of delivering 'anti state' and 'provocative' statement.

On April 8, Gazipur Senior Judicial Magistrate Shariful Islam sent Rafiqul Madani to jail after a case had been filed against him under Digital Security Act (DSA) with Gachha police station.

Earlier on March 25, Madadi was arrested from Motijheel area during a demonstration against the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of Independence. He, however, was freed later.
