Rafiqul Islam Madani detained from Netrakona

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Wednesday detained Islamic preacher Rafiqul Islam Madani from Netrokona on charge of spreading anti-state and provocative statements. 

RAB Senior Assistant Director (Legal and Media wing) ASP Imran Khan confirmed the news.

Earlier, police detained Rafiqul from Motijheel area on March 25.

He was detained during a demonstration, protesting visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of golden jubilee of the independence. Rafiqul was, however, later released.
