17.4kg gold bars seized at Chattogram airport

Customs Intelligence on Monday seized 200 gold bars, weighting about 17.4 kilograms, from a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight at Shah Amanat International Airport in the port city.

Roksana Akhtar, deputy commissioner of Chittagong Custom House, confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

She said, acting on a tip-off, a team of Customs Intelligence and National Security Intelligence (NSI) conducted a joint operation and recovered the gold bars from the back panel of BG-128 flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines which came from Abu Dhabi this morning.
