A fire broke out at the third-floor balcony of the old building of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in Dhaka on Thursday afternoon.

The fire originated around 1:45pm, said Shahadat Hossain from Fire Service and Civil Defence control room.

Two firefighting units rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze at 2:15pm, he said.

Initially it is being suspected that the fire might have erupted from an Air Condition machine malfunction. However, the extent of damage could not be known yet, he added.
