Senior Secretary (retd) Shyam Sundar Sikder has been appointed as the new chairman of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).

The Public Administration Ministry on Monday issued a gazette notification in this regard.

The tenure of previous chairman Jahurul Haque ended on December 4.

Sikder retired as senior secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Division on January 9 this year.
