Amra Meyera Bolchi (We The Women Speaking), a platform for all women, has been launched with an aim to provide legal and social assistance to female victims of violence and abuse. 

Country's leading online news portal and private company Brand Consortium jointly inaugurated the platform at a roundtable held at East West Media Group Limited (EWMGL) office in Bashundhara residential area of the capital on Thursday.

The platform will remain open 24/7 to women of all strata of society including members of law enforcement agencies, rights organizations.  

Women who were subjected to sexual assault, physical violence, and other types of crimes will be able to share their experiences through this platform. It will also provide legal supports to the victims though private and government officials concerned. Editor Jewel Mazhar presided over the roundtable while the portal's Lifestyle Department chief Sharmina Islam moderated the discussion. 

Sharmina Islam urged all women victims to come forward without any hesitation to share their stories with the platform and get justice.   

In his speech, Banglanews Editor Jewel Mazhar said: "In a patriarchal society, crimes against women have been committed in the past. Now, technology enabled us in so many ways but it also enabled the criminals. However, technology can also be used as a tool to catch the criminals and Banglanews is just a part of that larger initiative."

"We just have to take action. We can get rid of such social crimes as fast as we can take action in the need of a repressed women," he added.

Brand Consortium CEO Shakhawaat Alam Rano, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Mahmuda Afroz Lucky, Cyber Crime Department ADC Nazmul Islam, Supreme Court lawyer Sharmin Zahan, and senior government officials and journalists were present at the event.
