The government has appointed Saban Mahmud, Secretary General of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ), as the Minister (Press) at Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi on a two-year contract.

The Public Administration Ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard on Monday.

Saban Mahmud is the Special Correspondent of Bangladesh Pratidin, the highest circulated Bangla daily in the country.
