A Dhaka court on Tuesday set November 30 to hold hearing on charge framing in two separate arms and drug cases filed against expelled Jubo League South unit president Ismail Chowdhury Samrat.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Km Imrul Kayes fixed the date after taking the charge-sheet against Samrat into cognizance.
Samrat was produced before court from jail for today's hearing. Meanwhile, hundreds of his supporters demonstrated blocking the main gate of the court in Old Dhaka demanding his release. The demonstrators also chanted slogans in the presence of law enforcement.
RAB arrested Samrat and his accomplice Dhaka South unit Jubo League Vice President Enamul Haque Arman from Comilla’s Chauddagram upazila on October 6.
On October 7, RAB 1 Deputy Assistant Director Abdul Khalek filed the two cases against Samrat for possessing illegal arms and narcotics. Arman was also accused in the narcotics case.
