The government has promoted 98 joint secretaries to the post of additional secretaries.

The public administration ministry issued an office order on Saturday on the promotion and making the promoted officials Officers on Special Duty or OSD following tradition.

The number of permanent posts for additional secretaries is 121, according to public administration ministry officials.

After Saturday’s promotions, the number of additional secretaries is 611.
