‘Muggers’ stab man to death in Dhaka 

A 50-year-old man was stabbed to death allegedly by some muggers in Dhalpur area of the capital early Saturday.

The deceased Akhter Hossain Sikder, who hailed from Cumilla, was a manager of Jatayat Paribahan bus counter in Golapbag area.

He used to live in a rented house in Dhalpur's Lichu Bagan area with his family.

Yasin Sultan Rakib, nephew of the victim locals, police said that muggers stabbed Akhter in his chest when he was on his way to the bus counter from his Dhalpur residence around 4:45am, leaving him seriously injured.

Later, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctors declared him dead around 6:00am, he added.

Confirming the news, Bachchu Mia, in-charge (inspector) of the Police Outpost at DMCH, told Banglanews that the body was kept at the morgue for autopsy.

Jatrabari Police Station OC (officer in charge) Mazharul Islam told Banglanews that they reached the spot and started investigating into the incident.
