Ex-OC Pradip among 29 sued in Moheshkhali murder case Former OC Pradip Kumar Das

A case has been filed against 29 persons, including the then officer-in-charge (OC) of Cox’s Bazar Moheshkhali police station Pradip Kumar Das, over the killing of Abdus Sattar.
 
Victim Abdus Sattar’s wife Hamida Akhter filed the case with Moheshkhali Senior Judicial Magistrate Court on Wednesday noon.
  
Six policemen, including former OC Pradip, have been made accused in the case.

The other cops are- SI Harun-Ur-Rashid, SI Imam Hossain, ASI Monirul Islam, ASI Shahedul Islam and ASI Azim Uddin.

Of the 29 accused, Ferdous Gang leader Ferdous, 56, was named as the prime accused. 

According to case statements, Abdus Sattar was killed in an attack by members of Ferdous gang on February 14, 2017. However, Moheshkhali police station refused to register a case from victim’s family following the incident.

After Maheshkhali, Pradip Kumar Das was posted at Teknaf police station as OC. Earlier on August 7, Bangladesh Police suspended seven policemen, including Teknaf OC Pradeep Kumar Das, following the death of retired Bangladesh Army Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan in a reported police firing. Later all of them were arrested in the case.
