The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has started questioning five accused health officials, including former director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Professor Dr Abul Kalam Azad, over various scams and irregularities in the health sector.
A team led by ACC Director Mir Md Zoynul Abedin Shibli started the interrogation after the five accused entered in the ACC headquarters around 10:00 am on Wednesday.
ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed the matter to media.
The four others accused are: Former director of the Department of Health Dr Md Aminul Hasan, deputy directors Yunus Ali, Dr Md Shafiur Rahman and research officer Md Didarul Islam.
According to allegation, they were involvement in N95 mask scam and irregularities regarding the agreement signed between Regent Hospital and the DGHS.
On July 21, DGHS DG Dr Abul Kalam Azad resigned amid criticism and scams in the health sector.
