Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested three people in connection with the murder of retired Army major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan.

They were arrested from Marichbunia area under Baharchara union of Teknaf around 2:00pm on Tuesday. 

The arrestees are-- Nurul Amin, Nizam Uddin and Md Ayas from Cox's Bazar's Baharchara area. 

RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Lt. Cor. Ashik Billah told Banglanews: “Initially we have confirmation that they were involved in the incident. All the arrestees were handed over to court with remand plea.”

Major (retd) Sinha was killed in a police firing at Baharchhara police check-post on July 31. 

Later on August 5, Sharmen Shahria Ferdush, elder sister of Sinha, filed the murder case with Teknaf Senior Judicial Magistrate Court accusing nine police personnel.
