A Jubo League leader Russel Molla, who came under attack by miscreants on July 29, died on Tuesday morning.

Russel was the organizing secretary of Gopalganj Jubo League unit.

Confirming the matter, Gopalganj Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Manirul Islam said Russel died while undergoing treatment at Khulna Healthcare Clinic in the morning.

On July 29, some miscreants, including Rassel's maternal uncle Mahmud Kazi, hacked and beat him up while he was returning home around 8:30pm. The attack was carried out over previous enmity.

Critically wounded Rassel was first taken to Gopalganj 250-Bed General Hospital. As his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital and then to Khulna Healthcare Clinic where he breathed his last around 9:30am.

Victim's mother filed a case with Sadar police station accusing Mahmud Kazi and five to six unidentified others.
