Another policeman has died from the novel coronavirus infection, raising the death toll within the Bangladesh police to 66.

Md Dalil Uddin Biswas, 58, an assistant sub-inspector of Jhenaidah Police Lines, breathed his last at Central Police Hospital in the capital around 10:00pm on Monday, said a press release of Police Headquarters.

Dalil Uddin was admitted to the hospital on July 25 with coronavirus infection. Later, he was given life support as his condition deteriorated and died last night, the release added.

His body has already been sent to his village home in Jashore. Dalil Uddin will be buried at the family graveyard there.
