Wari put under 21-day lockdown

DHAKA: Wari area of the capital has been placed under lockdown for the next 21 days from 6am on Saturday (July 4) to contain the transmission of coronavirus (COVID-19).

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) chief executive officer Shah Imdadul Haque confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

The health directorate has identified Wari's Tipu Sultan Road, Jahangir Road, Dhaka-Sylhet Highway from Baldha Garden to Joy Kali Temple, Lalmini Road, Hare Road, War Road, Rankin Road and Nawab Road as high-risk 'red zones' where the lockdown restrictions will be enforced.

Wari is the second area in the capital to go into lockdown after similar restrictions were imposed on East Rajabazar.
